Getting Started

What is The AI Test Prep Co.?

The AI Test Prep Co. is an AI-powered test preparation platform. We use advanced AI models to deliver personalized learning experiences, including adaptive practice questions, AI-generated explanations, voice lectures, custom diagrams, and 1-on-1 AI tutor sessions. Our goal is to make high-quality test prep accessible, personalized, and effective.

Which tests do you support?

We currently support preparation for a wide range of standardized tests, including:

  • SAT and PSAT
  • ACT
  • GRE
  • GMAT
  • MCAT
  • TOEFL
  • AP Exams (select subjects)

We are continuously adding support for additional tests. If you don't see your test listed, join the waitlist and let us know which test you're preparing for.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple:

  • Join the waitlist by entering your email on our waitlist page.
  • Once approved, you'll receive an email with instructions to create your account.
  • After signing in, select your target test from the dashboard.
  • Take a diagnostic test so our AI can assess your current level.
  • Start your personalized study plan with adaptive questions and AI tutoring.

Is the platform free?

We offer a free diagnostic assessment so you can experience the platform before committing. Full access to adaptive practice, AI tutoring, voice lectures, and study plans requires a paid subscription. Pricing details will be available when your account is activated. We're committed to keeping our pricing fair and significantly lower than traditional tutoring.


Account & Sign In

I can't sign in. What should I do?

If you're having trouble signing in, try the following:

  • Make sure you're using the exact email address you signed up with.
  • Check for typos in your email or password.
  • Try resetting your password using the "Forgot Password" link on the sign-in page.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again.
  • Try a different browser or disable browser extensions that might interfere.

If the issue persists, contact us with the exact time you attempted to sign in and the error message you received so we can trace the issue.

How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in page, click "Forgot Password" and enter the email address associated with your account. You'll receive a password reset email within a few minutes. Check your spam/junk folder if you don't see it. The reset link expires after 1 hour.

Can I change my email address?

Email changes are not currently available through the dashboard. If you need to update your email address, please contact our support team and we'll assist you with the change. For security purposes, we may ask you to verify your identity.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account and all associated data, please contact us through the contact form below. We will process your request within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please note that account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Any active subscription will be canceled and no refunds will be issued for the remaining period.


Diagnostics & Tests

How do I start a diagnostic test?

After signing in, you'll land on the dashboard. Select your target test (e.g., SAT, GRE, MCAT), then click Start Diagnostic. The diagnostic adapts to your skill level in real-time, so the difficulty of questions will change based on your responses. You can navigate between questions before submitting.

How long does a diagnostic take?

Diagnostic length varies by test type, but most take between 20 and 45 minutes. There is no strict time limit -- take as long as you need. However, for the most accurate assessment of your current level, we recommend completing the diagnostic in one sitting without external resources.

What happens after I submit a diagnostic?

After submission, our AI analyzes your responses and generates:

  • An overall score estimate for your target test
  • A breakdown by subject area showing your strengths and weaknesses
  • A personalized study plan with recommended topics and practice areas
  • Detailed explanations for each question you answered incorrectly

You'll be redirected to the dashboard where you can view your results and begin your study plan.

Can I retake the diagnostic?

Yes. You can retake the diagnostic at any time to measure your progress. Each diagnostic generates fresh questions, so you won't see the same test twice. We recommend retaking it every 2-4 weeks to track improvement and let the AI update your study plan accordingly.

Are the questions from real past exams?

Our questions are AI-generated and designed to match the format, difficulty, and content areas of real exams. They are not sourced from actual past tests. This allows us to create an unlimited supply of unique practice questions tailored to your specific weak areas while avoiding copyright issues with official test materials.


AI Features

How does the AI tutor work?

Our AI tutor provides 1-on-1 personalized tutoring sessions powered by large language models. You can ask questions about any topic, request step-by-step explanations, work through practice problems together, or get help understanding concepts you find challenging. The tutor adapts its teaching style based on your performance history and learning patterns.

What are voice lectures?

Voice lectures are AI-generated audio lessons created using advanced text-to-speech technology (powered by ElevenLabs). They cover key concepts for your target test and are designed for on-the-go studying -- listen during commutes, workouts, or breaks. The content is tailored to your study plan and focuses on areas where you need the most improvement.

How accurate is the AI-generated content?

We use state-of-the-art AI models and have implemented quality checks to ensure high accuracy. However, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or imprecisions. Our platform is designed as a supplemental study tool and should be used alongside official test prep materials and guidance from qualified educators. If you spot an error, please report it to us so we can improve.

What are AI avatar lectures?

AI avatar lectures are video lessons featuring a realistic AI-generated presenter who walks you through concepts visually and verbally. These combine our AI-generated explanations with video synthesis technology to create an engaging, classroom-like learning experience. Avatar lectures are available for select topics and are being expanded continuously.


Study Plans & Progress

How are study plans generated?

After you complete a diagnostic, our AI analyzes your strengths and weaknesses across all tested subject areas. It then creates a personalized study plan that prioritizes the topics where you have the most room for improvement, while also reinforcing your existing strengths. The plan adjusts dynamically as you complete practice sets and retake diagnostics.

Can I customize my study plan?

Yes. While the AI provides a recommended study plan, you can focus on specific topics, skip areas you feel confident in, or adjust the intensity. You can also set a target test date, and the AI will pace your study plan accordingly to ensure you cover all necessary material before your exam.

How do I track my progress?

Your dashboard displays your progress including:

  • Overall estimated score and score history over time
  • Subject-by-subject performance breakdown
  • Number of questions practiced and accuracy rates
  • Study streak and time spent on the platform
  • Comparison to your diagnostic baseline

Waitlist

How do I join the waitlist?

Visit our waitlist page and enter a valid email address. If that email has already been submitted, we'll let you know instantly. You'll receive a confirmation email once you've been added.

How long does approval take?

Approvals are processed on a rolling basis. Wait times depend on current onboarding capacity and demand. We prioritize based on signup order and fit. You'll receive an email notification as soon as your access is approved with instructions to create your account.

Can I check my waitlist position?

We don't currently display waitlist positions. We send approval emails as spots become available. If you've been waiting for an extended period and haven't heard from us, feel free to reach out to support to check on your status.


Billing & Subscriptions

What payment methods do you accept?

We process payments through Stripe, which supports all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. We do not store your full card details on our servers -- all payment information is handled securely by Stripe.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period -- you'll retain full access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle. If you're having trouble canceling, contact us and we'll help.

Can I get a refund?

Fees are generally non-refundable. However, if you believe you were charged in error or experienced a significant service issue, contact us within 14 days of the charge. We review refund requests on a case-by-case basis. See our Terms and Conditions for full details.

Will my subscription renew automatically?

Yes. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual, depending on your plan). We'll send you a reminder email before each renewal. To prevent renewal, cancel your subscription before the renewal date through your account settings.


Privacy & Security

How is my data protected?

We take data security seriously. Your data is encrypted both in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in, implement role-based access controls, and conduct regular security reviews. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Do you sell my data?

No. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Your data is only used to operate and improve the Platform and is shared with third-party providers solely as needed to deliver our services (e.g., AI processing, payment handling).

Is my study data used to train AI models?

We may use anonymized and aggregated data to improve our platform and AI models. This data cannot be traced back to individual users. We do not provide your identifiable study data to third-party AI providers for their general model training. See our Privacy Policy for complete details on data usage.

How do I request deletion of my data?

You can request deletion of your personal data by contacting us through the form below or emailing privacy@aitestprep.com. We will process your request within 30 days. Certain data may be retained as required by law (e.g., payment records for tax purposes). See our Privacy Policy for details on your rights.


Technical Issues

Which browsers are supported?

The platform works best on the latest versions of:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

We recommend keeping your browser updated for the best experience. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Can I use the platform on mobile?

Yes. The platform is fully responsive and works on phones and tablets through your mobile browser. We don't currently have a native mobile app, but the web experience is optimized for mobile screens. For the best experience during timed diagnostic tests, we recommend using a desktop or laptop.

The page is loading slowly or not at all. What should I do?

Try the following steps:

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies.
  • Disable browser extensions (ad blockers can sometimes interfere).
  • Try a different browser or incognito/private mode.
  • If you're on a VPN, try disconnecting it.

If the problem persists, it may be a temporary server issue on our end. Please try again in a few minutes, and contact us if it continues.

My diagnostic progress wasn't saved. What happened?

Your progress is saved automatically as you answer questions. If your progress was lost, it may be due to a network interruption, browser crash, or accidental sign-out. Make sure you have a stable internet connection during diagnostics. If your progress was lost, you can retake the diagnostic -- contact us if you believe there was a system error and we'll investigate.
